The 2018 App

"Unfortunately for a number of reasons there isn’t a new version of the app this year. But this years beers are in and if you reinstall the app you’ll get this years list (just with last years branding). We’re hoping after this year (and once we know how the arena works for the beer festival) we’ll be able to do a new version for next year. I’m not sure what link made it into the programme but it should’ve been this to explain some of it." - Matt Carlin

App Issues explained

The Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival mobile app returned for another year on 2017. The mobile app was available for both iOS (Apple) and Android phones. Once you downloaded the app you were able to see the full list of beers and ciders available at the festival, you could also create your own beer or cider list beforehand so you could track down the ones you really wanted to sample! As well as listing and making lists for the beers or ciders, you were able to share which drinks you had drunk with your friends on social media using the #RHBCF16 hashtag. You could also rate your drinks so everyone else would know how good (or bad) they were! The list was be updated during the Festival itself with beers or ciders that had gone and reserves that had come on. Alongside using the app at the festival itself, it also listed the food offers and events for the Festival Fringe Fortnight so you were never far away from a fringe event.

The app was kindly been sponsored and built by Nottingham based web, video and app company Atomic Media. The app will be available to download from: choose iOS or Android and we will announce the news as soon as it goes live (see above message)! Remember to enjoy the Festival as well!

2018 Festival Food

What food will be on offer this year?

"We're welcoming back many of the food vendors who have been part of the festival for a good few years now (see below), consistently serving excellent food. The ever-popular MemSaab are back, dishing out delicious curries and wraps, Romano's tasty hog roast and gourmet burgers will be on offer, and revellers can grab a real Cornish pasty from the Hand Made Pasty Co. – all in the Backstage Village party area.

The Old Granary Pierogi return after last year's success, with their traditional hearty Polish Pierogi (handmade dough cases, hand rolled and stuffed with a variety of meaty and veggie fillings – they're kind of like Italian ravioli when boiled or the traditional Cornish pasty when baked).

Vegetarian and vegans can take advantage of the brilliant vegetarian van that we have this year, run by Veggies of Nottingham, and if you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, head over to the Love Crepes stall.

If all that isn't enough, there's even more great grub on offer in Bolero Square: German sausages, breakfast rolls, pie and peas, pulled pork and brisket, duck fat roasties, cheese toasties, fish and chips, pork pies and loads more!" - Source : Steve Westby, Chair Nottingham CAMRA as told to Visit Nottingham
